Are you looking for a fun and unique way to celebrate your birthday? A way to thank your wedding attendants? Or just a way to explore a new craft in the comfort of your own home with an experienced instructor who makes HOUSE CALLS? At the end of the day, you and your friends will have at least 2-3 FINE SILVER pieces of jewelry that you made yourselves!
I will come to you and your group of 5-10 friends for a class which will introduce you to PMC. You will learn how to manipulate the clay by texturing, molding, sculpting to form pendants, earring or bracelet components (or even rings if you have a little expience already with PMC.) We will then torch fire your pieces, polish and patinate as you wish to create truely unique and personal jewelry for you to wear by the end of class!
I will bring a huge array of textures, rubber stamps and my bench tools for you and your friends to use as well as plenty of PMC clay, syringe and sheet types. There will be tool kits and extra clay to purchase as well, if you just can't stop making fabulous new fine silver jewelry at the end of the day!
All you need to provide is a group of at least 5 people ready to learn this exciting medium. You will need a kitchen or dining table and chairs to seat everyone, we only need about the same amount of space per person as needed for eating a meal...about 24 inches each, tho more is fine. We can even sit down at a picnic table outside in the shade, weather permitting.
I will travel throughout the SF Bay Area to you, anywhere within about 50 miles of Oakland where I live. Further distances may require additional travel expenses.
Cost: $100 per person, with a minimum of 5 students. In addition, each student will need a package of either PMC Plus or PMC3 which I will provide at market cost, currently at around $25 for either a 16gr pack of PMC3 or 18gr pack of PMC Plus. Students are welcome to bring their own PMC or tools if they have them.
Time needed: 6-8 hours with about a half hour lunch break. Usually, everyone brings a bag lunch, to keep the time and prep to a minimum.
